Principal's Message

Welcome to the website of Drakes Creek Middle School. Our mission is to ENGAGE AND CONNECT FOR SUCCESS. We believe that for students to be successful in middle school they must engage personally with the content in meaningful ways and they must positively connect with one another and with their teachers. The way we accomplish this mission is by following the three Rs of positive behavior: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Ready to Learn.

Our faculty and staff practice the Seven Habits for Highly Effective People and incorporate the principles behind the habits into their lessons and day-to-day routines. To that end, we have set some lofty goals for our students that include students leaving DCMS at or above grade level in all academic areas; teachers and students working together to create an environment where students can articulate how daily class activities directly relate to the attainment of learning targets; and students and teachers working together to create a culture of personal connections and accountability.

Drakes Creek Middle School maintains high expectations for behavior and academic success. Our experience is that middle school students will rise to meet and exceed these lofty expectations.
